Family Services of NW PA is licensed to complete international homestudies for individuals or couples interested in adopting a child from another country. The requirements for the homestudy are different based on the country of choice.

• Applicants are required to be at least 21 years of age or older
• If currently married, applicants are required to be married for 2 years
• Applicants are required to pass a physical
• Applicants are screened through the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Childline and Federal Bureau of Investigation
• Applicants are required to provide proof of financial stability

Each country may have additional requirements.

Family Services of NW PA is not licensed to facilitate international adoptions but will work with any state licensed adoption agency selected by the adoptive applicant.

This agency is further licensed to provide post placement services that include but are not limited to: in home supervisions, required reports for the court, home inspections and updated homestudies.

A fee is required for these services.
